flashback - may 2007
"I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I muse on the work of Your hands." (Psalm 143:5)
Dear praying friend,
Why is this news a little late? It was a busy first week of June. Details next month.
For the first half week of May the school was without the Juniors and Seniors and two high school teachers. John & Ruth Bloom and Anne Denny took the Juniors and Seniors on their class trip they had been fundraising for during the last 2 years. They went to Washington, D.C. and New York.
The last day of school was on the 11th and the last few days leading up to it were quite busy. Grading, awards, and yearbooks filled my schedule. On top of that was the annual field day and end-of-year all-school picnic. Graduation was the evening of the 12th. We had seven Seniors graduation and nine 8th graders being promoted into high school.
After school was out I had several days of recreation and relaxation with several friends that came to visit the Mission. We went hiking, camping, and tubing down the San Juan river.
Then it was off to Kansas Bible Camp to help out there for a couple of weeks. I did a lot of computer programming for the camp database system making lots of small improvements. I also helped with a little bit of cleanup from a recent flood. A day before Leadership Training Camp was to start Cow Creek that runs by KBC flooded some again causing LTC to be postponed for a day. I helped get a few last minute things ready for camp and spent the first day and a half of camp helping out with whatever I could.
On the 29th I headed back to Immanuel Mission with John Bloom to help prepare for the summer teams that would soon arrive. My younger brother also came out to the Mission to help out while awaiting boot camp in the Marines in August.
Pray for open hearts, a willing witness, and unending opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thanks be to the Lord,
Andrew Nelson
